Writing Update Wednesday: 02/08/2023
This week is all about the fantasy anthology published by Blanket Fort Writers in November 2022. This book is really lovely (what a pretty cover!) and full of interesting stories written by talented writers. Plus, the ebook is free! You should read it. :)
As for writing this week, I’ve had so much going on and any time that happens writing gets pushed to the back of my to do list. In the small spaces I’ve managed to revise a few scenes in Thorn plus work on world building (so fun!), so at least there have been little bits of progress here and there.
A few happy things from this week:
A book club I’m in started reading Circe by Madeline Miller this week, and so far I’m intrigued. I’ll have the first three chapters read by this Saturday, and then it’ll be time for the first book club chat.
This home tour with Judy Aldridge of Atlantis Home is really delightful. I love her style and creativity!
I ran my family through another Dungeon and Dragons game through Wildemount, and I’m glad to say my skills have improved as Dungeon Master.
As a side note, Instagram has learned that I will click nearly any TTRPG ad (especially ones for Kickstarters) and so that’s the majority of what I see on the platform. I’m not complaining.
I finished the first Darkside Detective game and I loved it! Laugh out loud dialogue, great characters, and inventive plots made this a satisfying point and click adventure. I already own the second in the series so now I’ll be moving onto that one in the next few days.
