Traveling Alpaca Stories: Seeing Stars
Lights dimmed in the crowd, all eyes on the ice as the players skate out. Their ice skating is beautiful from above, as though the players dance with hockey sticks across the rink. A hockey game Al has gone to, his first of many, where he watches the Dallas Stars versus their challenger for the evening. They skate left, they skate right, hockey sticks striking, hitting, flying.
Players hope to score goals, but the shots on goal greatly exceed the successes. Three periods we watch, waiting on the edge of our seats. Who will win this intense game?
The team with better strategy was not the Stars in this match up. Once over, we head home – no win for the home team.
Later, Al reflects. Tonight, Al had visited a place where no alpaca has previously gone, into the arena where he ended up seeing stars.
